Erickson Living Activities Assistant in Overland Park, Kansas

Are you looking for a meaningful way to utilize your compassion, skills and knowledge of memory care/memory loss in order to make a positive impact? If so, consider joining our team as an Activities Assistant (Intermissions Associate).
In this role, you will make a difference not only in the lives of our residents who participate in our Enriched Connections program, but in their families lives, as well, helping them navigate the challenges of memory loss.
Compensation: Starting at $16.00 per hour, based upon experience
Part-Time: 20 - 30 hours/week
Shift: Mon - Fri 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., some evenings and weekends may be required for special events
How you will make an impact
Co-lead social activity-based programming for Intermission participants
Adopt a person-centered approach and an environment that supports the needs of each individual resident
Design and implement creative programming
Assist in program operation by leading activities and transport residents to and from programs
Engage in mealtime preparations
Complete daily attendance records
Attend in-services and other training to increase job knowledge and skills in working with participants
What you will need
Patience, flexibility, and the sincere interest and desire to work with residents affected by dementia
Programming/activity experience is preferred
Flexibility in work schedule to include evenings/weekends
