Fairbanks Scales Inc. Area Sales Representative in Overland Park, Kansas
Summary
The Area Sales Representative position is an entry level outside sales professional with the primary responsibility of finding and developing new accounts for Fairbanks Scales as well as supporting existing customer base. This position is expected to achieve annual sales goals for an assigned geography.
Essential Job Duties
Communicates the benefits of Fairbanks Scales products in order to drive sales.
Grows top line revenue within an assigned geography.
Works closely with Area Sales Manager and Service team to support existing customer base and identify potential new customers.
Coordinates sales effort with team members and other departments.
Administers quotes for Maintenance Contracts.
Learns and sustains a strong working knowledge of the Industrial Product Catalog and simple "out of the Catalog"
Maintains Contacts, Opportunities, Quotes, and Orders within CRM system.
Makes cold calls within the assigned territory.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred.
Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record per Company and insurance policies and pass a driving physical
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels with excellent interpersonal skills.
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels. This work is mainly indoors in an office setting, involving regular contact with customers through phone and email.
Face-to-face contact at many varieties of customer sites including industrial, construction, agricultural and more that are indoors or outside with varying noise and temperature levels with uneven terrain.
Daily vehicle travel is required for this position to meet with current and prospective customers.
Occasional air and overnight travel may be required for trade shows, training, or job site visits (up to 30%).
