Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. The Benefits Coordinator will manage employee benefits programs, ensuring accurate administration and excellent employee support while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of benefits administration, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for improving employee experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Work with internal customers with enrollment.

  • Work with outside providers for 401k compliance.

  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, bonus plans, and benefits enrollment.

  • Conduct salary surveys and market analysis to ensure competitive compensation packages.

  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in compensation and benefits.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Track, maintain, and respond to all EEOC and Work Comp claims.

  • Respond in person to depositions when necessary.

  • Log and track all employment complaints, in addition to client-based claims and complaints.

  • Deposition preparation and reporting.

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation of complaints filed.

  • Develop and maintain employee handbooks and policies.

  • Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate HR-related risks.

  • Conduct and participate in Work Comp audits, along with benefit reporting and audits.

Additional Responsibilites:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, resolving issues, and providing guidance.

  • Collaborate with insurance providers and brokers to manage enrollments, claims, and plan updates.

  • Oversee benefits enrollment and ensure the accuracy of data in HR systems.

  • Educate employees about available benefits and assist with onboarding and open enrollment sessions.

  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.

  • Prepare and analyze benefits reports to track utilization and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Assist in developing and updating benefits policies and procedures.

  • Support HR initiatives related to employee wellness, engagement, and retention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.

  • Certification in HR or benefits administration (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in Payroll preferred.

  • Experience in Benefits Management, such as 401k auditing/reporting and open enrollment of yearly insurance changes is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in the security industry is preferred.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • Must be able to be in office 1-2 days a week.
