Humana Business Systems Analysis Lead in Overland Park, Kansas


The Business Systems Analysis Lead, performs analysis of business, process and user needs, documentation of requirements, cost/benefit analysis and translation into proper system requirement specifications. The Business Systems Analysis Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.


The Business Systems Analysis Lead:

  • Works closely with end users to identify and design enhances to improve a business workflow

  • Formulates and defines systems and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements

  • Devises or modifies procedures and processes to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results

  • Validates benefits achieved from solution implementation

  • Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance

  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 8 years of technical experience

  • Minimum 3 years of business analysis experience

  • Minimum 2 years of project leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience with process documentation and re-engineering

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Visio

Work-at-home Requirements

  • Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings

  • Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) for optimal performance of is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma certification

  • Previous knowledge of insurance and healthcare industry regulations

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Jira

  • Experience producing metrics, measurements and trend reports

  • Experience in problem analysis and process

  • MBA or other Advanced Degree
