Robert Half Claims Representative in Overland Park, Kansas
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Claims Representative in Overland Park, Kansas. The individual will primarily handle Auto General Liability Claims and maintain all related file reviews. This role is vital within our team and contributes significantly to our operations in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities:
• Investigate claims and settle them promptly and equitably in line with established best practices guidelines.
• Review claim and policy information to provide background for investigation and determine the extent of the policy's obligation to the insured.
• Contact, interview, and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc. to secure necessary claim information.
• Evaluate facts supplied by investigation to determine the extent of liability of the insured and the extent of the company's obligation to the insured under the policy contract.
• Prepare reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluation of involved parties, etc.
• Set reserves within authority limits and recommend reserve changes to Team Leader.
• Review progress and status of claims with Team Leader and discuss problems and suggested remedial actions.
• Assist Team Leader in developing methods and improvements for handling claims.
• Settle claims promptly and equitably, obtaining releases, proofs of loss or compensation agreements, and issue company drafts in payments for claims.
• Inform claimants, insureds/customers, or attorney of denial of claim when applicable.
This role requires the ability to apply best practices and proven account management skills. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are crucial for effective interaction within the organization. The job also demands a good understanding of auto liability cost containment programs and the ability to analyze and prepare reports. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Customer Service and Communication
• Experience in Training and Policy development
• Proficiency in Payment Processing and Supervising teams
• Familiarity with Claim Administration processes and principles
• Strong Negotiation skills and ability to track Progress
• Knowledge of Property insurance and claim settlement Methods
• Adherence to Best Practices in claim management
• Experience in Account Management
• Strong Interpersonal Skills and aptitude for Appraisals
• Ability to Prepare Reports and conduct Onsite inspections when required
• Knowledge of Settlements, Liability, and Release Process in claim management
• Experience in handling Denials and working with Witnesses
• Proficiency in using FACTS or similar claim management software.
