Type of Position: Full-time Salaried, Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday - Friday, 7:30a.m. - 4:00p.m., 40 hours per week
Pay Range: \$41,800.00 - \$53,800.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Lead an assigned classroom of young children and provide an effective learning environment for college students in cooperation with the Manager, Supervisor, Early Childhood Education Chair and college faculty.

Five years\' experience in the Early Childhood field
Two years\' experience training and/or supervising other staff, student teachers, interns, etc. in the Early Childhood field
Meet requirements for program director of a unit of children to be served as defined by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, experience with word processing and general computer use
Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework and experience in program administration
Experience with a similar age group of children as indicated by the position available
Experience in a nationally accredited program

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- COORDINATE THE DAILY OPERATION OF AN ASSIGNED CLASSROOM TO MEET BEST PRACTICES a. Best practices are role modeled, including discipline, engagement, and communication with children, families, and colleagues. b. Guidelines for state licensing; national accreditation, and the federal food program are met. c. Classroom budget as outlined is maintained, purchasing supplies and materials as needed. d. Classroom and outdoor play area are well-maintained.
- COORDINATE EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS, AND VOLUNTEERS IN THE ASSIGNED CLASSROOM a. Feedback is provided to the Program Director regarding comments/concerns about performance. b. Weekly meetings with your classroom staff are conducted. c. Completion of classroom staff performance appraisals and facilitate annual 1:1 performance appraisal meeting. d. Classroom Supervisors will have Student Teachers, Observers, Interns, etc. in their class in partnership with JCCC courses. Classroom supervisors will be responsible for grading assignments and evaluations of students are completed on time.
- PLAN AND IMPLEMENT A DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM FOR THE CHILDREN SERVED a. Lesson plans are written and posted daily, according to guidelines as outlined. b. Assessment on children is ongoing and current. c. Interactions with children are meaningful and respectful. d. Incorporate weekly participation of class/children in the HCDC Garden, including lessons, activities, tending to the classroom garden bed, etc. when the HCDC Garden is active (Spring, Summer, and Fall; no Winter participation needed)
- ESTABLISH RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH FAMILIES a. Families are greeted upon arrival and departure. b. Daily contact sheets are maintained on all children. c. Parent/Teach conferences are held. d. Monthly newsletters are sent to families.
