Job Description
A client of Insight Global in the Power Generation industry is seeking a Design and Technology manager to add to their EPC engineering team. This manager is responsible for selecting, maintaining, and coordinating the power plant design 3D software including the material databases that drive the system. Pipe codes, piping materials, pipe support types, electrical codes, electrical cables, raceway types, structural types, etc. will all need constant review as standards and codes change.
This manager will be reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, and overseeing a team of electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural designers. The Design & Technology Manager will allocate resources from this designer pool as project needs dictate. You will need to work collaboratively with their integrated EPC team along with our clients to execute and provide world class, quality focused deliverables for their construction team.

Skills and Requirements
8+ years of mechanical, electrical, or structural design experience
o Experience must be in Power Generation (Power Plants) or Fossil Fuels
o Minimum of 1 year of experience in a lead role
Advanced ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings
Has to have an advanced understanding of ONE OR MORE of the following design softwares: E3D, Plant 3D, SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel - Bachelors degree or associate degree in drafting technology, design or related fields
Experience with Aconex (Document Controls software)
Clear understanding of construction practices & principles
Working knowledge of technical aspects of the proposal and estimate process null
