Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Ecommerce Site Merchandiser is responsible for product sales, margin and profit for Bushnell’s DTC ecommerce channels. The Ecommerce Web Merchandiser Manager will own specific categories (i.e. Binoculars, Riflescopes, Laser Rangefinders, Reloading Dies, etc.). The Ecommerce Web Merchandiser Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Digital Commerce and Consumer Experience. The role requires significant cross functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Consumer Service, Planning, Digital Media and Finance. It is Ecommerce Merchandiser’s responsibility to bring the merchandising strategy to life digitally and deploy campaigns, and promotions on a daily basis. The Ecommerce Merchandiser uses sales data, website metrics, consumer research and competitive intelligence to build best in class shopping experiences and digital marketing programs to produce results that align with the company’s business objectives.
This role requires keen attention to detail, a results-oriented mindset and a person that is inquisitive, flexible and collaborative, and comfortable with the ambiguity. The candidate must be analytical, have strong organizational and time management skills. Proven self-starter with a strong sense of product and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible for online sales of their product category including margin and profit. Other key KPI’s for this role includes conversion, traffic and AOV for their categories.
Responsible for the “digital merchandising” of their product categories. This includes:
On-Site Search: Making sure site search is optimized for their categories
Sort Orders: Managing the orders in which products show up on the product listing page and other product result pages.
Ensuring that product detail pages contain the richest possible information for customers which includes managing Questions and Answers as well as working with marketing to obtain as many Ratings & Reviews and UGC as possible.
Serve as digital thought leader for their categories; helping to identify new technologies and features by benchmarking competitor activity and attending conferences, reading industry news sources and meeting with vendors. Merchandisers will work with the ecommerce team to develop needed enhancements and functionality for their respective categories.
The merchandiser is the face of digital for the planning teams by handling inventory requests, forecasting and sales/margin/operating profit of brand website(s).
Merchandisers drive the digital marketing for their categories. They work with marketing/planning/operations to obtain information on upcoming offers and (if needed) jointly come up with new offers.
Merchandisers work with marketing to obtain the appropriate resources to support their campaigns. Examples include emails, texts, social posts and other forms of digital marketing.
They will also work with the web ecommerce team for the creation and implementation of content spots on the website (category page, homepage etc).
Merchandisers provide necessary information on promotional details, key items and messaging for creative, marketing and content teams to create and execute.
Merchandisers are responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of tactics, continuously improving their programs and sharing pertinent information with their peers.
Daily reviews their area of the website to ensure content is accurate, current and is presented in a way that encourages purchases. This also includes reviewing the accuracy of pricing and promotions.
Merchandisers will use market basket data and other sources of information to successfully execute add-ons and soft bundles.
Minimum of five years online merchandising experience with expert knowledge in merchandising processes and merchandising related tasks at the daily, weekly, quarterly and annual timeframes
Saleforce Commerce Cloud experience preferred
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform role related analyses
An ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of SEO,
Google Analytics Suite experience preferred (GA, GTM, Google Search Console)
Exposure to technology platforms and principles around responsive design, Analytics, Reporting, SEO, ADA compliance, Ratings & Reviews
Passion for the outdoors a plus.
BS degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business or relevant field
