Job Summary and Qualifications
The Neurodiagnostic Technician performs routine and complex diagnostic testing in the laboratory and in critical care areas in accordance with hospital policies and national standards. Performs and records a variety of neuro diagnostic procedures to include EEG, including intra-operative EEG monitoring and electrocerebral silence, ENG, Evoked Potential, and EMG assist. What you will do in this role:
You will review the patient's medical record and assess the patient to determine their physical and emotional needs.
You will communicate information about the test and explain the testing procedure to the patient and/or family.
You will identify and correct for artifacts before forwarding results to the attending physician.
You will assist in maintaining EEG equipment and supplies.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an AMA approved EEG school.
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist, or will become Registered within one (1) year of hire.
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Certification.
1 year experience in a medical environment preferred.
