The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Employee Relations Coordinator to join our team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for coordinating employee relations, legal, and HR shared services-related activities.

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee relations activities and investigations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Assist in developing and implementing employee relations policies and procedures.

  • Maintain policy and procedures manual for the global organization. Consult and develop policies for new business entities and regions.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on employee relations matters.

  • Collaborate with legal and HR teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on changes in applicable laws and regulations to support decision-making processes and enable appropriate policy and procedural changes within the organization.

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of employee records and documentation.

  • Assist in ADA, Leave Administration support, and coordination and completion of activities.

  • Actively manage and provide recommendations for case management systems.

  • Partner with legal counsel, compliance officers, and Employee Relations to manage EEOC claims and lawsuits.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining required reports for the Department of Labor, EEO, and other as required.

  • Coordinate and assist with companywide EAP programs and trainings.

  • Support Global Employee Relations Director and HR Legal Counsel with special projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (law degree a plus).

  • Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to employee relations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Proficient in research and analysis.

  • Able to exercise sound judgment, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Able to take initiative; able to take a proactive approach towards improving processes and systems.

Minimum Qualifications
