Field Control Specialist
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Field Control Specialist to work out of our Overland Park, Kansas office.

Roles and Responsibilities
Perform control system technical services on utility/boiler plant control systems as well as a variety of other tasks as assigned by utility clients
Follow all safety rules applicable to your work assignment
Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, and other PTE employees in a professional manner
Assist with business development activities such as maintaining client contacts, proposals, estimates, and identifying new opportunities
Be involved in the scheduling of work assignments
Provide accurate work summaries, reports, calibration and test data, software files, and other documentation in a timely manner that meets department standards
Share technical expertise with co-workers
Be responsible for knowing the scope, schedule, and budget before beginning any work assignments
Complete and pass all required training activities including OSHA 30-hour course
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, have own personal transportation with the ability to provide additional personal liability insurance coverage
Must be able to pass federal drug and alcohol test
Must be able to successfully pass client’s background screening process
Required Education/Experience
2+ years of college or technical/trade school study in an instrumentation/controls course
5+ years of work-related experience in the utility/boiler plant controls business
Be a self-starter with the ability to organize work duties and take lead roles on field assignments
Manage multiple tasks and work effectively with different personalities
Must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and client personnel
Working knowledge of computers and associated operating software such as MS Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and vendor software packages
Have knowledge and understanding of utility/boiler plant operations and control systems
Be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings that include P&IDs, installation details, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Have knowledge of control system design and hardware and programming such as DCS systems, PLCs, and standalone controllers
Working knowledge and calibration experience of control system field devices such as transmitters, control valves, actuators and pressure, level and temperature switches
Must have mechanical and electrical aptitude with to control system components, installation, and maintenance
Desired Education/Experience
An electrical or mechanical engineering technology degree, from an ABET-accredited university
Experience working for a controls integrator with utility experience
Control system manufacturer training
