YRC Freight Intern - HR in Overland Park, Kansas

JOB SUMMARY

The intern will gain professional experience by assisting with various HR programs and projects. This position will assist the HR Manager and Generalist team in a wide range of projects related to HR compliance and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain familiarity with the application of HR policies and business processes in a corporate environment.

  • Assist the Human Resources department as needed and projects as assigned.

  • Compile and analyze data from HR activities and make recommendations for changes.

  • Assist with research projects and company initiatives/events, as requested.

The successful Intern will have the following attributes:

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft office products, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. In progress to a degree in Business, Human Resources Management or other related degree preferred.

  2. Proven track record in effectively working with others to achieve results.

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
