Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft 365 Administrator - Teams SME who has strong experience with design, administration, and configuration of M365 suite. This candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Microsoft 365 environment, including deploying and configuring new applications, providing end-user support, and ensuring the security and compliance of the platform.

  • Strong expertise within Microsoft Teams environment , including configuring and deploying new Teams, channels, and users.

  • Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, including configuring and deploying new applications, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and others..

  • Ensure the security and compliance of the Microsoft 365 platform, including managing access controls, security policies, and compliance regulations.

  • Being a part of any sort of Zoom, Skype, or WebEx migration over to Microsoft Teams is very ideal within an environment of 500+ users (Our client has over 1K users)

Going into 2024 MSFT Teams is going to be a priority focus for our client. This Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Teams environment, including conversion of legacy telephony, implementing new features and upgrade's, managing permissions, and providing end-user support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, manage and maintain the Teams environment, including configuring and deploying new sites, and managing end user experience from headsets to video, plans to porting.

  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement new features and upgrades to the Teams environment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Teams performance, permissions, and access.

  • Provide end-user support for Teams, including training and troubleshooting.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for Teams usage.

  • Monitor and analyze Teams usage, performance, and security.

  • Work with other teams to integrate Teams with other Microsoft 365 applications and tools.

  • Stay up to date with new Teams features and capabilities and recommend enhancements to improve productivity and efficiency.

  • Implement lifecycle management and governance for Microsoft Teams.

  • Plan for Teams rollout and adoption.

  • Identify required licensing for Teams.

  • Analyze usage patterns by monitoring Microsoft 365 and Teams usage reports.

  • Monitor Microsoft Teams environment by managing user access using AD and Azure to access reviews.

  • Assess network readiness by using Microsoft 365 network connectivity dashboard.

  • Create and manage phone system and phone numbers within Microsoft Teams.

  • Maintain and manage apps, chats, Teams channels, virtual meeting and calling functions within Microsoft Teams.

  • Working with Senior M365 Security Admins and Azure AD admins to implement security measures by configuring Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, Safe Attachments, Safe Links, Cloud App Security, and security reports.

  • Working with Network Infrastructure team to plan & configure network settings by working with the Network Planner tool: configure and manage Microsoft Teams devices; implement compliance policies regarding alerts, recording, communication, call management, data loss prevention, and retention.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for Microsoft 365 usage.

  • Monitor and analyze Microsoft 365 usage, performance, and security.

  • Work with other teams to integrate Microsoft 365 with other applications and tools.

  • Stay up to date with new Microsoft 365 features and capabilities and recommend enhancements to improve productivity and efficiency.

  • Manage and maintain the Microsoft Teams environment, including configuring and deploying new Teams, channels, and users.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing and administering Microsoft 365 environments.

  • Minimum of 3 years technical experience working with Microsoft Teams.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Teams architecture and functionality.

  • Experience with Teams in Microsoft 365 environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features.

  • Experience with governance, access controls, and policies.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage project workloads for a seamless user experience.

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 and Teams management.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other teams.

  • Microsoft 365 and Teams certifications preferred.

  • Experience transitioning from on premise VOIP systems or similar systems to Microsoft Teams.

  • Experience creating and implementing policies regarding employee and company access, safety, applications, usage etc. in Microsoft Teams.

  • Ability to communicate and partner with all levels of management across departments.

  • Sound technical experience in assessing telecommunications support requirements as well as conducting required administrative tasks required for the projects.
