Must have working knowledge of Standards for all types of sterilization equipment, sonic cleaners, and washer sterilizers.

Oversight of the CST functions including appropriate decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, processing, packaging, and quality checks for cleanliness, rust, or needed repairs of instruments in Central Sterile.

Responsible for securing appropriate repairs on needed equipment. Assist with assuring proper instrumentation is available for daily cases. Ability to supervise staff to be flexible and responsive to rapid instrumentation turnovers for cases during the day.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree preferred.

Licensure/ Certifications: Current Certification as Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (C.S.P.D.T.) from Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution preferred. If no current certification, then C.S.P.D.T. must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent experience in Sterile Processing role
required or ST experience equivalent. Previous Supervisory or Lead Technician experience strongly preferred.
