YRC Freight Mgr-Audit in Overland Park, Kansas

JOB SUMMARY

Manages operational and financial audits. Plans and schedules audits, staffs and coordinates audit teams. Establishes work standards and procedures for the inspection and appraisal of financial and operational records and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Selects, develops and assesses the suitability of processes, formats and frequency of audit and risk information collection, collation and reporting.

  2. Monitors audit engagements, ensuring proper coverage and appreciation of auditing principles and practice.

  3. Reviews audit documentation and reviews and/or prepares reports to senior management.

  4. Recommends revisions to auditing policies, procedures and programs.

  5. Provides organizational awareness and technical expertise in sensitive or complex audit engagements.

  6. Responds appropriately to management queries in relation to the internal control environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree

  2. Five (5) years previous audit related experience.

  3. Relevant prior leadership/management experience.

  4. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. MBA

  2. Previous experience in transportation systems and logistics.

  3. Professional audit certifications preferred (CIA, CPA, CISA, CFE, etc.).

  4. Demonstrated proficiency with a data extraction tool (ACL or similar) and internal audit software (TeamMate or similar).

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
