Labcorp PRN Histotechnician in Overland Park, Kansas
Are you an experienced clinical laboratory professional looking for a PRN Histotechnician/Histotechnologist opportunity? Labcorp is seeking a PRN Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to join our team in Overland Park, KS.
Schedule for this position is as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs embedding of tissue, microtomy sectioning of the tissue to sage on the microscopic slide and specific staining and immediate examination of a pathologist.
Operates computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate with wax, tissue specimens to be preserved for study by pathologist; maintains and troubleshoots delicate electronic histological equipment.
Performs computerized data entry of all work performed.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education
Normally an Associate’s Degree w/1-3 years of experience in Histology or a High School Diploma with 2+ years histology experience.
