The Procurement Manager, Indirect Procurement, is instrumental in leading and optimizing procurement and supply chain functions across the organization. This role is responsible for developing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing a team of procurement professionals to ensure operational excellence and cost-efficiency. By implementing best practices and innovative procurement solutions, the Procurement Manager enhances the effectiveness of the supply chain, contributing significantly to the organization's overall success. Regular interaction with internal and external executives and stakeholders ensures alignment and supports strategic objectives. Ultimately, this role is crucial in maintaining a robust, efficient procurement system that supports service excellence and market competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and leadership to enhance performance.

  • Manage vendor and strategic supplier relationships to secure advantageous terms and maintain supply chain reliability.

  • Develop procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and ensure cost-efficiency.

  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve the procurement process.

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations within the procurement department.

  • Interact regularly with internal and external executives to align procurement strategies with business objectives.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain operations and procurement strategies within indirect spend (office supplies, IT services, utilities, and facility management).

  • Experience with negotiating complex agreements with vendors.

  • Expertise in vendor management, strategic planning, leadership, and negotiations.

  • Proficiency in Ariba, Oracle, CSCP, CPSM, PMP, and category management.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or Engineering.

  • 7-10 years of experience in leading and managing procurement processes and supply chain operations in a technology or wireless industry.

  • 7-10 years of experience in developing and negotiating complex agreements with suppliers.

  • 7-10 years of experience in implementing procurement strategies and solutions to enhance supply chain effectiveness and cost-efficiency.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's/Advanced Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management (Preferred).

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve complex issues within the procurement process.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders and lead executive-level presentations.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess procurement metrics and performance.

  • Ability to perform financial analysis to evaluate vendor proposals and overall cost-effectiveness.

Work Environment

This position is located in Overland Park, KS, and follows a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days of your choice remote. The work environment includes impressive facilities with a full gym, locker room, cafeteria with free lunch every day, ping pong tables, putting greens, and foosball. The accounting team is housed within one of the four buildings on campus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
