Introduction to the team

The Proposal Manager will help to build the consulting proposal function and grow proposal capabilities for Moss Adams Consulting service lines. This team drives growth by developing compelling and compliant proposals and other sales collateral for consulting service lines. This position is responsible for serving as a career advisor to proposal team members; responding to complex requests for proposals (RFPs) for consulting services; working with the consulting operations leadership, client service leaders, and other sales team members to help design, build, and integrate a library of proposal content; and providing quality assurance to deliver proposals that are free from proofreading errors, meet firm and RFP compliance requirements, and effectively represent our firm capabilities and value proposition. This position will consult with proposal teams on the creation of high-value and/or strategic proposals and plays a key role in contributing to the development of the firm’s deal-closing strategy and continued growth of pursuit-related teams and resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a career advisor for members of the consulting proposal team, and in a mentoring capacity for others who aren’t direct advisees, while working closely with consulting operations leaders to develop the team

  • Drive the competitive intelligence and market strategy for the consulting proposal team, including on high-dollar or strategic firm opportunities while advising pursuit teams on best practices and influencing sales strategy decisions

  • Develop an approach to obtaining and housing competitive intelligence and related market data for use in persuasive, creative, and targeted proposals and sales collateral, working collaboratively with other marketing and sales team members as appropriate

  • Collaborate with sales leaders to integrate competitive intelligence and other decision-making approaches to pursuit strategy throughout the pursuit process, building on the firm’s overall sales strategy while also examining successes and failures to develop data and market intelligence–backed best practices

  • Regularly develop new content based on intelligence and research to better position the firm in the market and improve existing content in the proposal content library

  • Develop and conduct proposal training for national proposal team members and administrative professionals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, English, or related field or equivalent sales and marketing experience required

  • Minimum of 5 years of related project management, pursuit, and/or sales and marketing experience in a complex organization required, including demonstrated involvement with building and leading high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture; experience in public accounting or professional services environment preferred

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to direct, manage, and provide constructive input on the work of others

  • Ability to develop relationships, build rapport, and coach, mentor, and manage others, including managing the work of remote team members

  • Strong understanding of the application of market intelligence and data to sales decision-making and deal strategy

  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels within the firm

  • Proven commitment to providing exceptional client service

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred

  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint)

  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%
