In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. This position is located at the Kansas City National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO


Manage Security personnel and subsequent programs in a manner that allows the organization to adhere to processes, regulatory standards, contractual standards, and customer expectations. Directly assists senior management on projects involving a wide variety of functions, and develops, coordinates, and directs the implementation of initiatives or projects. This person is responsible for leadership and guidance to improve and ensure security requirements are met. This person plans, assigns, and accounts for the activities of assigned direct reports and influences across functions to coordinate an effective security program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of functional programs in relation to established goals Interacts with senior management to formulate and implement strategies necessary to meet divisional objectives

  • Represents senior management, as directed, in meetings or appropriate functions

  • May act as a direct customer interface on assigned projects

  • Develops project plans to identify resources necessary to deliver divisional objectives on schedule and within budget

  • Monitors the progress of projects, reports results, and initiates corrective action as required

  • Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

  • Mentor Personnel within the Security Division in promotion of self-growth and career development

  • Directs and facilitates divisional projects, technical and/or operational efforts that cross divisions/functions, including the application of sound management techniques to reduce costs and improve operations

  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements within the division

    You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree required in business related field and applicable security experience with program management

  • Seven (7) or more years of expanding responsibilities for key security program and/or project management roles

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and assignments

  • US citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy "Q" level security clearance.
