Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be a key part of the company’s accounting and finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. In this newly created role, the Senior Accountant will focus on managing month-end close processes, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, handling intercompany transactions, and delivering statistical financial reporting. Additionally, the individual will manage CAPEX projects, capitalize assets, calculate depreciation, and support ad hoc audit requests and special projects as needed. Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Close:

  • Oversee and execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Reconciliations & Intercompany Transactions:

  • Perform detailed account reconciliations (e.g., bank accounts, fixed assets, intercompany accounts).

  • Handle intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) & Depreciation:

  • Capitalize assets and work closely with project managers on CAPEX projects.

  • Calculate and reconcile asset depreciation schedules in accordance with company policies.

Statistical & Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze detailed statistical and financial reports.

  • Ensure reports meet internal and external requirements.

Audit & Compliance Support:

  • Assist in responding to ad hoc audit requests from internal and external auditors.

  • Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Project & Process Improvement:

  • Support special projects, such as ERP system integrations or process streamlining initiatives.

  • Drive improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles.

  • Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, CAPEX projects, and depreciation calculations.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
