QTS Data Centers is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to work from our Overland Park, KS Headquarters location. Quality Technology Services (QTS) is a leading provider of data center solutions across a diverse footprint spanning more than 9 million square feet of QTS Mega Data Centers throughout North America and Europe.

SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst prepares and distributes internal reporting packages, performs financial analysis, and identifies continuous improvement opportunities within the reporting process. The role involves automating processes, developing data management best practices, and collaborating across departments to achieve strategic objectives. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Internal Financial Reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in preparation and timely distribution of monthly internal reporting packages, including compilation and reporting on various performance metrics focused heavily on revenue data including, but not limited to: cumulative contracted revenue, new business, booked, revenue backlog, and revenue loss reports.

  • Support ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis requests as needed.

  • Leverage systems, programs, and platforms (Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, Tableau, Excel) to automate manual processes and develop new, efficient reporting workflows.

  • Lead process documentation and development of data management best practices to be utilized within the financial reporting team.

  • Gather development requirements for projects and translate into reporting and analytics roadmap.

  • Develop and maintain clean and organized data sets to facilitate financial analytics.

  • Use accounting concepts, experience, and analytical skills to resolve issues in creative and effective ways.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, data analytics, or related field.

  • Three or more years of relevant experience in data analytics, financial reporting, accounting, or financial analysis.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (mastery of formulas and functions, VBA, Power Query).

  • Experience in interpreting and analyzing large data sets.

  • Proficiency in working with relational databases, including Snowflake (or similar platforms).

  • Experience integrating fragmented data sources into cohesive datasets.

  • Experience using business analysis and data visualization tools beyond Excel (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Hyperion, SQL, Python).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Certifications or training related to business analytics, SQL, Python, or Tableau.

  • Experience with MS Power Platform tools, Salesforce, Workday, or Adaptive.

  • Progressive experience in contributing to continuous improvement projects with measurable results, while leveraging technology to increase efficiency, enhance workflow fidelity, and reduce cycle times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical/technical skills with experience analyzing and interpreting financial data.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules & regulations.

  • Broad and deep understanding of relational databases.

  • Ability to assess workflow strengths and weaknesses, drive proactive improvements, and foster peer skill development.

  • Detail-oriented: prepares accurate and timely work product.

  • Professional agility to adapt to changing team needs and priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Sound organizational skills necessary to prioritize multiple projects of varying duration and ad-hoc requests.

  • Ability to take initiative, ask for and offer help when needed, and work independently without being prompted.

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
