The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the effective design and development of a wide range of interactive online learning products for Optum Frontier Therapies which provides a new model of pharmacy care for rare disease. The designer is responsible for conducting training needs analysis, developing training materials, communications and activities to meet the organization's job/role requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create online learning, assessments, and learning resources that effectively incorporate adult learning principles to ensure individual performance expectations, skill application, and organizational business goals and needs have been achieved

  • Introduce innovative design and effectively leverage technology to deliver on instructional goals

  • Manage the design of multiple products and ensure compliance to all project deadlines

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints while upholding working relationships with SMEs, stakeholders and other team members

  • Design simulations, scenario-based cases, and videos

  • Solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses

  • Collaborate with peers, leaders and stakeholders to brainstorm solutions and solve problems

  • Communicate project status and risks to leaders and course development partners

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of design and development experience from concept to delivery, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines

  • 3+ years of experience with coordinating and/or managing projects

  • 2+ years of experience designing Web-based training in a corporate environment

  • Proficient in Storyline 3 or Articulate 360 using Articulate Review and Rise

  • Experience developing content using authoring tools for creating videos

  • Experience using prioritization and time management skills to balance multiple project demands

  • Experience using effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration, listening skills and driving results individually and in a team setting

  • Experience using time management, organizational and prioritization skills on projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Instructional Design or related field or a combination of education and experience or equivalent work experience

  • Degree in instructional design or educational technology

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, Captivate, Camtasia

  • Experience with Agile ADDIE methodology and rapid development

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams

  • Experience with SnagIt, Photoshop or similar tools

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models

  • Successful collaboration and work experience with learning and performance solutions teams/education and business stakeholders

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
