T-Mobile Senior Manager, Business Systems in Overland Park, Kansas

The Back Office Business Analyst team provides support for back-office finance teams (Tax, Finance Operations, Fraud, Credit Risk, and other Finance-related functions) on Enterprise Projects and Programs by working closely with stakeholders and technology teams to identify, evaluate and prioritize opportunities and develop a strategic approach to implementing change. The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) team members are accountable to develop business requirements on behalf of the back-office teams they represent and advocate for the requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

The Senior Manager, Business Systems role will lead a team that participates in large enterprise projects and programs supporting one or more work streams and multiple business teams. The candidate will need to have a wide variety of skills and strong communication to support the team, such as: a strong understanding and proven ability to develop BSA resources, tools and skillsets, stakeholder management expertise, experience in creating a body of knowledge and standardizing BSA processes. This individual must be able to translate strategic direction into T-Mobile focus as it pertains to the Back Office BSA support functions and oversight.

This position creates and maintains staffing plans to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables, as well as provide day-to-day guidance to staff members while acting as liaison to senior management and business stakeholders. This position interfaces with T-Mobile Directors, Vice Presidents, and functional disciplines such as Finance, IT and Business Channels.

What you’ll do in your role.

  • Manages team of Business Systems Analysts. Evaluates team member competencies and invests in staff development. Drives corrective behavior while maintaining self-esteem. Utilizes Team Development and motivational techniques to constantly raise the bar in performance and quality.

  • Ability to see, account for, and coach others in the “big picture” and to be able to tie initiatives to Corporate and Individual Goals.

  • Maneuvers and mentors’ business systems analysts through complex &/or competing organizational priorities.

  • Invests in stakeholder management and possesses ability to gain stakeholder trust. Brokers consensus among stakeholders with conflicting needs.

  • Lead program communication activities including building credibility and establishing rapport with stakeholders at multiple levels

  • Activity seeks out industry and business information. Understands how policies, systems and processes impact job performance and projects. Fosters business knowledge and understanding among business systems analysts and project stakeholders.

  • Provides structure, feedback, and direction. Creates clear and measurable goals. Holds self and team accountable.

  • Develop roadmap and execute initiatives to improve processes and tools for the BSA team and FinPro organization; update as needed to match business priorities, constraints, and dependencies

  • Mentors and contributes to organization’s body of knowledge on business systems analysis, requirements package, and quality programs.

  • Ability to recruit high-performing business systems analysts.

  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

The experience you’ll bring.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 7 years+ in people management, team lead or other equivalent leadership experience

  • 7 years+ in Business Systems Analysis, Business Analysis &/or Technology project roles – empowering business through robust technology improvements.

  • 4 years+ relevant work experience in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management &/or other Back Office functions

  • Solid understanding of ERP and/or financial systems, including the development, implementation, testing, and/or maintenance of a suite of billing, accounting, credit, collections, or fraud prevention systems

  • Experience in developing team members of all skill levels to create high performing teams

  • Proven ability to drive adoption of tools and process standardization within a team and across organizations

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Able to adapt communication style to all levels of management and team members

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, IE/Chrome, and experience with Visio and SharePoint.

  • Telecommunications industry experience preferred, not required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts / Science degree in business or technology.

  • Certification in Business Analysis, Business Systems Analysis, Project Management, or similar field (preferred)

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work. The CDC defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
