The role will ensure that all goods and services are procured within budget and stipulated timescales to meet the project or operational requirements. The position works collaboratively and proactively with the Sales and Operations Teams and supports the Procurement Lead and Sourcing Manager in contract execution, supplier setup process, and other critical supply chain-related processes as needed.
Under the direction of the Sourcing Manager, leads the activities of the Division's purchases of raw materials, supplies, equipment, or services. Identifies requirements from production specifications, operational schedules, and engineering quality requirements. Recommends the most cost-efficient and reliable materials/services to support GTF’s New Unit and after-market operations.
Maintains accurate lead times for services, parts, and raw materials.
Provides support in researching alternative sourcing options based on approved criteria.
Under the direction of the Sourcing Manager, selects suppliers and negotiates price, delivery, quality, and service. Develops alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.
Monitors and evaluates supplier performance. Advises appropriate personnel of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery.
Resolves shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues. Facilitates the resolution of problems by arranging and participating in conferences between suppliers and company personnel.
Supports in negotiating settlements due to damage claims, rejections, losses, the return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers.
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Participates in continuous improvement activities and suggests cost reduction and improved efficiency options.
Complies with federal, state, and industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
Actively participate in the S&OP process.
Under the direction of the Sourcing Manager, develop and maintain a vibrant, diverse supply chain and promote collaborative working.
Promote the ‘ONE TEAM” ethos and matrix working across the wider GTF business.
Take on additional duties or projects as required, within reason, by the business to support any other part of the GTF business.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or relevant discipline. Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
S trong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively.
Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem-solving in a customer-focused environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing communicating effectively with all levels of management.
