Sr. Engineer/Developer, Server Development

The Device Software, Intelligence, and Analytics team within the Device & Technology is the center for On-Device Apps and Services, Network Analytics, and Data Engineering. We are looking for a passionate, technically minded, and data driven Sr. Server developer to lead the development of complex back end systems that interface directly with applications within the Android and iOS ecosystem.

  • Develop technical design solutions for telecom OEM devices, IT, and Network capabilities to support Device roadmap strategies. This includes detailed high level approach, detailed technical specifications and design work.

  • Review/consult on the Device Architecture Blueprint for architecture direction. Develop requirements and design in partnership with Device architects, IT and Network architects with the project team(s).

  • IT and Network systems integrator (requires strong knowledge of IT and Network capabilities and systems interfaces).

  • Provide Device testing approach if requested, guidance to Device, IT, and Network teams when required.

  • Production support/assistance for OEM/Device teams/IT/Network for device functionality when required.

  • Provide executive communications and materials for projects, strategies, and designs when required. Guide our leadership team on technology decisions and constraints.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, and 5+ years related experience.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically in the use of Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Required languages: Java, TypeScript, Unix Scripting, CSS, HTML, XML

  • Required Frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, Tableau Dashboard, Oracle, MySQL, Soap, Rest API’s,

  • Required Tools: IntelliJ, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Kibana, Microsoft Office, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Docker, GIT, Maven.

  • Lead, and document the results of, peer code reviews.

  • Experience integrating mobile devices to rest API interfaces.

  • Must possess expertise with a unit-testing framework such as JUnit/Mokito.

  • Strong understanding of cellular functionality including: location services and radio layers (2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G).

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work.
