Honeywell Sr Software Engineer - Test Engineering in Overland Park, Kansas

In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. The Senior Software Engineer in Test Engineering provides support of highly technical and advanced software processes typically requiring specialized qualifications, knowledge and/or skill and is the recognized authority within area of expertise with wide versatility of experience and capability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs project planning and manages project resources, including multiple individuals and disciplines

  • Conducts research and development experiments to resolve complex engineering and quality problems

  • Writes technical reports on results and conclusions drawn from experiments conducted.

  • Performs design, coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process on tester systems

  • Regularly offers solutions to significant technical problems

  • Applies expertise in software engineering principles, technologies, methods, tools, and processes, to eliminate barriers to successful project completion

  • Recognized as an emerging authoritative expert in the field of Software Engineering, with wide versatility of experience and capability

  • Acts as a mentor to junior level software engineers

  • Interact with external customers in order to facilitate the completion of projects to customer specifications

  • Evaluates and implements innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety

  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner

    You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program and 6+ years of experience

  • Application of advanced engineering principles and technology related to highly complex technical assignments

  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership

  • Experience with Microsoft .Net, Visual Studio and C# programming language

  • Experience with off the shelf test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, etc.)
