Robert Half Tax Manager in Overland Park, Kansas

Description

A mid-size public accounting firm is currently seeking a Tax Manager to oversee and handle comprehensive tax services and advise clients on appropriate tax strategies. This role includes handling various types of taxes - individual, business, fiduciary, etc., and working closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning solutions. Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate tax audits and prepare all related paperwork.

  • Review tax returns, quarterly/year-end estimates, and individuals/business/fiduciary returns.

  • Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns.

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.

  • Coordinate accounting staff and manage tax planning resources.

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, provide exceptional customer service, leading to increased client satisfaction and retention.

  • Generate new business leads and manage an existing client portfolio.

  • Conduct complex tax research and review tax-related documentation.

  • Verify tax forms completed correctly, comply with legislation, and ensure their timely submission.

  • Keep informed about current tax laws and news, as well as the potential impact on clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.

  • Minimum of 7 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.

  • Proficient with tax software and technology, including proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proven track record of solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of business situations.

  • Ability to foster and maintain professional relationships with clients.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

  • Ability to direct and supervise.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Tax Manager role or similar position

• Proficient in handling complex tax issues and preparing complex tax returns

• Expertise in corporate income tax and corporate tax compliance

• Experience in preparing corporate tax returns

• Thorough knowledge of federal tax laws and experience in preparing federal tax returns

• Proficient in fiduciary income tax return and fiduciary tax

• Well-versed in income tax accounting and preparing income tax returns

• Familiarity with IRS tax regulations

• Experience in preparing individual tax returns

• Proficient in handling multi-state tax returns and multi-state taxes

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Must possess excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Strong organizational and managerial skills

• Must have a professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Tax Coach (CTC)
