Job Summary and Qualifications

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for the overall management of Overland Park Regional Medical Center's business development organization.

The Vice President of Business Development will direct selected clinical/hospital departments as designated by the CEO; collaborate and coordinate those processes necessary for Business Development/Strategic Planning to include facility space planning, identification and evaluation of opportunities, business model design; physician recruitment; and provides facility leadership presence in a strategic service delivery model to ensure Xtreme service and operational

What qualifications you will need:

This position requires a senior business development executive who can identify potential business opportunities and develop the tactics and teams needed to bring them to fruition. This executive will need to actively lead the business development function in an effective, aggressive manner. At the same time, this executive is also expected to be a contributor to the management of the company as a whole, as a member of the senior management team.

The following requirements establish the necessary professional background and experience parameters for the successful candidate.

Education:

• Masters degree; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years health care experience (clinical experience preferred) with experience in business development and marketing.

• Experience in marketing or selling services in a start-up or early stage environment.

• Supervisory and/or management experience required

Knowledge:

• Comfortable and skilled at working with physicians, health care providers, and other stakeholders in the organization

• Capable of gaining immediate credibility with individuals through experience, presentation, communication skills, empathy and compassion

• Analytical skills including a working knowledge of basic statistics and statistical analysis methodologies including the ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions

• Knowledge of PC based computer software, i.e. Word, Excel, Access and/or similar systems preferred

• Knowledge of marketing communications concepts, including promotional materials development: brochures and collateral materials, presentation materials, advertisement campaigns, and sales tools. Corporate communications and building brand equity including: logo development, understanding of trade marks, service marks and copy writes, Publication Relations and press releases.

• Ability to work independently and interdependently

• Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements

Overland Park Regional Medical Center (https://oprmc.com) is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients.
