The Blade Operator is responsible foroperating a motor grader on a gravel road route.

Maintaining machinery and equipment.
Operating Machinery
Operates one or more types of heavy equipment to maintain roads, do slope work and makes excavations, fills ditches and grades. Operates loaders, mowers and tractors in leveling and maintenance. Clears snow and ice from roads and parking lots.
Assure utilities are located, install traffic control, entrance and culverts.
Maintains proper ditch drainage.
Maintaining Machinery and Equipment
Performs mechanical maintenance and service work on equipment operated.
Knowledge of:\ Operating procedures for all equipment assigned\ \ Skill(s) in:\ Time management\ Written communication\ \ Ability to:\ Operate heavy equipment skillfully, safely and according to traffic laws and regulations.
Read, comprehend and apply instruction manuals, drawings and to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
Safely use mechanical hand tools and operate automotive and other heavy motorized equipment.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Work outdoors when inclement weather conditions exits.
Use and maintain the tools, materials and equipment used in construction and maintenance activities.
Physical Demands:
May stand for extended periods. Lifts 50 pounds maximum. Stoops and bends as necessary. Good physical health required.\ \ Visual, Hearing and Dexterity Demands:
Requires concentrated visual attention which must be maintained for sustained periods. Good vision and hearing acuity is required. Good eye and hand coordination is required. Must possess good dexterity to operate appropriate equipment.\ \ Working Conditions:Indoor and outdoor work, as necessary
Special Working Conditions:
On-call/Stand-by work and weather essential position.
