Job Summary:
Provide supportive care in a medical detox and residential environment. Serve as a medication aide upon passing certification test in the state of Kansas. Collaborate with a passionate, dedicated team to ensure patients receive optimal nursing care at all times.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):
- Answer call lights and bells to determine client needs
- Assist clients with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair and incontinence care
- Assist clients with range of motion exercises
- Movement to and from bed as needed
- Obtain and record vital signs and intake and output as directed
- Communicate to nursing team changes in clients clinical condition
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, as well as a calm environment
- Demonstrate pride in the organization by keeping areas clean and safe
- Performs other tasks as assigned
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Act decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Demonstrate ongoing responsibility and commitment through good attendance
- Performs tasks in an ethical, legal and caring manner
- Performs tasks safely and effectively to assure client comfort and welfare
- Respects client rights

- Seeks guidance from the nurse as needed to perform tasks safely and efficiently
Essential Functions of Certified Medication Aide:
- Dispense oral, inhalation and topical medications to patients under direct supervision of a licensed nurse unless otherwise allowed by state law.
- Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses.
- Performing tasks associated with medication administration, including patient vital signs, calculate medication dosages and stock the medication cart.
- Recording medication administration according to agency procedure
