Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Electrician. The primary function of the Electrician job is to operate, maintain, and install lighting and electrical equipment across the campus.
Duties and Responsibilities of Position
\ 40% -Installs, manages, and maintains electrical and electronic equipment in campus buildings,\ facilities, and property including generators, lights, transformers, motors, appliances, wiring,\ circuits and other electrical devices and components to ensure that all equipment stays in line\ with electrical codes, regulations and standards. Operates hydraulic conduit bending equipment\ and electrically powered wire pulling equipment, maintains tools and equipment,\ inspects transformer fuses and visual inspects high voltage lines.
\ 30% -Maintains and repairs electronic and electrical equipment, motors, controls, switches, automatic\ clock systems, intercom systems, fans, light ballasts, wiring in refrigeration and air-conditioning units,\ photocells, indoor and outdoor lighting, exit lighting, fire alarms, etc.; troubleshoots and makes\ emergency repairs on equipment; replaces light bulbs and tubes; repairs and maintains controls on\ heating and air-conditioning systems to include boilers, overhead heaters, furnaces, steam control\ valves, and Dravo units; troubleshoots problems; installs and hooks up control wiring; assists in\ selection of replacement equipment.
\ 20% -Provides support for campus events and activities such as Steak Fry, Homecoming Events, athletic\ contests and concerts. Plans, installs and maintains specialty equipment such as printing presses,\ welding equipment, lathes, woodworking machinery, dust collection systems and machinery in the\ School of Technology.
\ 5% -Maintains shop equipment, tools and material; requisitions materials from storeroom; cleans shop\ area; drives vehicle to and from job sites.
\ 5% -Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
