Pittsburg State University invites applications for the position of Enrollment Communications Coordinator in the Office of Admission. The primary function of the Enrollment Communications Coordinator is to coordinate and lead communication projects to attract and retain students at Pittsburg State University. The position is also charged with administering the Office of Admissions social media accounts and developing, maintaining, and monitoring tone and content consistency within all admissions and enrollment communications at Pitt State.

Duties and Responsibilities

65%Content Creation and Deployment

  • Drive institutional awareness through creating and deploying relevant and engaging inbound and outbound content, search marketing, and search optimization, multichannel campaign development, consulting with academic departments to enhance program-level recruitment and retention, and working closely with Creative and Strategic Communications to coordinate priorities, activities, and messaging

  • Provide a central leadership role in the communications operations of the Office of Admissions, working closely with senior leadership and admission counselors to establish and follow through on prioritized, coordinated strategies and projects that drive toward enrollment and revenue goals.

  • Establish communications policies and practices in the Slate CRM platform.

  • Generate, edit, publish, and share relevant, on-strategy, optimized, and engaging content for social media and web daily

  • Develop and lead social presence for PSU admissions accounts: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat

  • Work with graphic design team in Creative and Strategic Communications, photographer, and videographer to conceptualize and develop print and digital content for multichannel admissions and enrollment campaigns

  • Direct the creation of video and photography for unique social media campaigns

  • Direct student marketing intern and other students in the creation of social and other digital content

  • Establish and execute an annual social advertising plan

25%Cross-functional Collaboration and Project Coordination

  • Coordinate requests from academic and other departments to market programs, providing input and guidance on marketing best practices through training and templates

  • Lead regular collaboration with the Admission staff to determine needed content to share with market

  • Share responsibility for accessibility and search optimization of web content

  • Build and cultivate close working relationships with staff in the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SAEM) and across campus

  • Develop a process for coordinated communication with external partners, including alumni and high school counselors

10%Planning and Reporting

  • Drive the creation of an annual marketing plan for prospective and current students designed to attract and retain

  • Systematically collect, analyze, report, and act on data
