JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: FOREMAN

Job Summary:

The Foreman for RFB Construction Company, Inc. is expected to be versatile in his/her experience on heavy equipment, including but not limited to operating trackhoes, backhoes and dozers. Experience in seeding, dirt work, erosion, edge drain, concrete, signs, and fencing is preferred. Must be able to work extended hours and be willing to travel. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check is required of all successful candidates.

Essential Functions:

Proficient experience leading crews is mandatory.

Must be an experienced Equipment Operator with verifiable work history.

Must be able to read and understand plans as well as specs and SWPPP reports.

Must maintain a Class A CDL preferably with airbrakes.

Follows the directions of the Project Manager, Company President, and all others in the chain of command.

Follows all safety procedures including maintaining safety standards in compliance with OSHA, MSHA and DOT regulations.

Provides clear and helpful directions to laborers.

Must be an excellent communicator, have exceptional time management and be a problem solver that can work independently without supervision.

Records field notes as requested.

Completes daily and weekly paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets for crew, daily material sheets, equipment inspections and other documentation as requested.

Safeguards employer equipment, inspecting, cleaning, and greasing as needed.

Help take care of the company employees and assets

Be organized in your work.

Always ask questions, as it is cheaper than redoing your work.

Be on time and prepared each day.

Always look and act professionally. You represent the company by your actions, personality, and the work you do.

ALL PAPERWORK IS TO BE COMPLETED DAILY AND TURNED IN BY NOON ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY.

Paperwork is NOT to be done Monday Morning while your crew is waiting on you.

Timesheets: To be completed by you and signed by each crew member daily. ALWAYS document lunch breaks! Minimum of 30 minutes is mandatory.

Material Sheets: Quantities written down daily and approved by inspector

Vehicle Inspections: Mileage to be documented and truck to be inspected daily.

Equipment Inspections: Hours and condition to be documented daily.

Credit Card Receipts: To be coded and put in envelope to be turned in.

Fuel Receipts: Vehicle number to be written on and put in envelope to be turned in.

Hotel Receipts: Job name to be written on and put in envelope to be turned in.

Work Progress Pictures: E-mailed to office to be filed in job files. Daily progress pictures must be taken daily.

Call project inspectors/prime ahead of time and confirming quantities and ETA.

You, and only you, are to communicate with the Prime/Inspector on the project!

Need to be able to read and understand plans, specs and SWPPP reports

Before you leave the office, you have proper equipment, supplies, tools and materials.

Check with the Project manager when you arrive and when you complete a job, also if there are changes or issues arise.

Always ensure proper management of the crew, time equipment and materials. Be a Leader!

Make sure that stickers/labels exist at all times on machines indicating the dates that the next maintenance should occur (i.e. oil changeetc.)

Maintain excellent safety standards in compliance with OSHA, MSHA and DOT regulations.

Ensure efficient and timely com letion of the project.

Grease equipment.

Make sure the truck is clean inside and out.

Must do inventory daily on quantities.
