POSITION SUMMARY
The City of Pittsburg is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our new sanitation team. As a sanitation employee, you will be responsible for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclables throughout the city. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the citys streets and neighborhoods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclables from residential and commercial properties.
- Operation of heavy and specialized equipment such as trucks and compactors.
- Monitoring and reporting any issues related to sanitation services, such as overflowing dumpsters or damaged equipment.
- Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures during waste collection and disposal.
- Maintenance of inventory levels for supplies and equipment and reporting any shortages or damages to the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Familiarity with heavy machinery and equipment operation.
- Good driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards.
- Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and the public.
