Salary Information:

Starting wage is \$14.66/hr.

Job Duties Include:

\ Provides patients with light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, errands, meal planning and meal preparation assistance, which due to their physical or mental limitations, are unable to perform on their own. Responsible for accurate record keeping. Performs housekeeping and homemaking duties consisting of washing dishes, wiping countertops, wiping off kitchen appliances, checking and cleaning refrigerator, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting, removing trash, spot cleaning inside windows and walls, cleaning toilet, sink, tub or shower, making beds and changing linens, washing, drying, folding and putting away laundry. Follows principles of Food Handler Safety. Prepares meals at patients request or need. Prepares future meals and stores appropriately. Assists in development of client grocery list and go shopping as needed. Documents all visits with Kansas AuthentiCare. Documents visit actions and observation via electronic health record. Attends staff meeting with Home Health Registered Nurses, Home Health Aides and Home Health Administrator. Reports concerns of clients health and environment to Home Health RN or Home Health Coordinator. Maintains knowledge of and compliance with Department policies and procedures. Must complete the National Incident Management System training. Maintains certification in CPR and yearly blood-borne pathogen training. Reports for work during public health emergencies as needed. Job may require occasional weekend/evening visits. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:\ \

1. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.\ 2. Must have a valid Drivers License and must provide own transportation.\ 3. Must have or be able to pass Food Handler Safety Training certification.\ 4. Must have good communication skills to work with Staff and public in a congenial manner.\ 5. An ability to maintain a professional demeanor.\ 6. Must have basic computer data entry.\ 7. A proven ability to plan and organize work.\ 8. Must be flexible and be able to adapt to different tasks.

Physical Requirements:

Determined Work Level: Level 3 Medium Work: The applicant must attain a 2.5 score or above score on their physical capacity profile. Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Ability to hear directions and ability to communicate ideas by means of the spoken word when interacting with Staff and public. Must have fine and gross manual dexterity to operate the telephone, calculator, typewriter and computer.
