Duties:Performs administrative support functions related to the acceptance, review, distribution, & issuance of building permits; performs data entry & maintenance of electronic files, documents, & spreadsheets related to plan review & permit issuance; monitors & confirms status of plan review for pending permits; monitors all documentation related to post issuance reviews & approvals; verifies documentation necessary to accept initial commercial permit application submittals; distributes construction & plan review documents to the respective staff for review; furnishes information requested by departmental staff or customers; assists inspection staff in the property maintenance inspection & documentation process; processes permit payments & balances receipts; schedules & coordinates interim permit inspections; manages the records involved with Building Services court cases; manages contractor testing application records; assists the staff liaison in maintaining records & minutes for boards & commissions.

Education:High school diploma or G.E.D.

Required Experience:Three (3) years progressively responsible administrative support work; computer software applications including Microsoft Office & Access.

Preferred Experience:Knowledge of building construction terminology, processes & permit processing preferred; two (2) years experience with permits; International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician certification.

Work Type: Light, exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Hours:Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

*Starting pay: DOQ EOE\ *Permit Tech I: \$16.55-17.38/hr.\ Permit Tech II: \$17.38-18.25/hr.
