Great Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking an experienced 1st Shift Welder to join our team at our Salina Facility.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus overtime on Fridays, as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing or any combination of arc welding processes utilizing a variety of welding equipment
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
- Operation of various welding robots
- Clean, repair and examine welds as needed
- Conduct quality checks throughout the shift
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of MIG welding operations
- High standard for quality and detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of team concepts and willingness to be a strong team player
- Willingness to work overtime
- Ability to lift heavy parts throughout the shift
- Open to Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change
