The role you’ll contribute:

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Equipment Manager the Respiratory Equipment Technician provides thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and/or sterilized equipment according to established standards set forth by the Respiratory and Infection Control departments. Maintains adequate inventory, supplies, equipment, and specialty carts per department guidelines. Responsible for the use of all decontamination and sterilization equipment; can trouble shoot minor issues. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Disassembles and decontaminates equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations, operates mechanical washers/dryers (as applicable), and wears appropriate PPE during process. Accurately assembles, and verifies basic function of Respiratory Care equipment, according to manufacturer’s guidelines. Appropriately cares for and handles all components of equipment to avoid unnecessary damage. *Stores equipment in proper area. Disinfects all work surfaces on a daily basis with proper disinfectant and monitors the environment for cleanliness. Reports all concerns to Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator.Maintains accurate logbooks and documentation related to equipment cleaning and inventory activities in the department. Completes inventory, reorders, and restocks supplies for the department, as needed.Delivers equipment to Biomed when needed. Receives medical gases from vendors upon delivery and ensures the appropriate amounts are delivered to designated areas (as applicable).

Qualifications

• KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirementsAbility to work under stress and deadlines KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED : ·Basic mechanical skills including the ability to disassemble, clean, reassemble, and verify basic function of medical equipmentAbility to understand the needs of the customer and respond to them in a proactive, courteous, professional, and efficient mannerFlexibility and ability to adapt to change
