The role you’ll contribute:

The Non-invasive Cardiology manager has 24-hour accountability, authority, and responsibility for the quality of services, operational management and human resource management for the Cardiology Non-Invasive, Advanced Heart Care clinic (HF clinic), and cardiovascular and pulmonary rehab departments. The manager fosters collaboration and a team environment with nursing and ancillary departments ensuring the highest quality patient experience possible. The manager fosters the integration of the organization’s vision and values and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan through an accountable work team. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Manager collaborates with patients/customers, families, physicians, administration, and associates to exceed customer expectations in a patient focused, healing environment. The Manager will have a broad understanding and strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular noninvasive procedures inclusive of electrophysiology, vascular, structural heart, coronary, heart failure, preventative cardiovascular medicine. The Non-invasive Manager will have a strong understanding of department procedural requirements, equipment and staff, regulatory certifications and requirements, exercising professional judgment in performance of services and maintaining a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. The major functions of the Cardiology Non-Invasive Manager are applying critical thinking skills and judgment in planning, problem solving and decision making related to operational flow, staffing to meet patient needs in the Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehab department, Advanced heart care clinic (HF clinic) and non-invasive cardiology. The Manager facilitates communications between individual associates and teams, physicians and the Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular service line, as well as other Medical Center personnel; having and maintaining clinical knowledge and skill to serve in situations in direct patient care. The Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, budget and planning, a comprehensive education and core competencies evaluation program for Non-Invasive cardiology and support staff, maintenance of staffing and scheduling, management, Department customer loyalty excellence, quality improvement outcomes and employee engagement. The manager will work in a collaborative effort with supply chain, finance and leadership to initiate a program in capturing lost revenues and patient charges. The Non-Invasive Cardiology manager will report directly to the Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular Service Line.

· Maintains knowledge/expertise of cardiovascular best practices and industry standards as it relates to cardiovascular medicine, non-invasive cardiology, heart failure, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehab as well as preventative medicine.

· Works in close collaboration with the Executive director and medical directors in all aspects of pulmonary and cardiovascular rehabilitation services, Advanced Heart care clinic, and non-invasive cardiology.

· Assumes responsibility for daily operations of Cardiovascular, pulmonary, and Heart Failure Rehab dept/program, non-invasive cardiology and the Advanced Heart Care clinic.

· Provides supervision and direction to Cardiopulmonary Rehab, Advanced Heart Care and Non-invasive cardiology staff.

· Assist staff in procurement of equipment and supplies, giving consideration to budget, current inventory, hospital procedures, and guidelines. Maintains equipment/supplies necessary for delivery of services.

· Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of heart failure, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

· Assures the patient billing is entered/checked daily with accuracy and maintains familiarity with all areas of reimbursement

· Assures orientation of new associates; Assesses the strengths and developmental needs of staff and helps them develop to their potential; Provides and demonstrates commitment of personal and professional development.

· Establishes department goals based on organizational and Cardiovascular Services strategic plan

· Manages the Cardiopulmonary Rehab, non-invasive cardiology, and Advanced Heart Care clinic departments budget, productivity, equipment and supplies.

· Collaborates with Heart and Vascular Leadership team to review/discuss pertinent issues and strategy regarding staffing, patient care, quality outcomes, patient experience, equipment and supplies, and policies and procedures.

· Monitors the quality of service and outcomes through use of PDCA.

· Conducts thorough analysis of projects by assessing needs, expectations, supporting data, and develops implementation plan in collaboration with appropriate team members.

· Utilizes organizational philosophy and values to enhance customer loyalty. Deals with patient/family in a positive manner; demonstrates patient advocacy and the ability to promote patient satisfaction. Utilizes the ACT and iCARE models to address patient /family (or customer) care concerns.

· Models behaviors conducive to the development of a positive, supportive and productive team.

· Maintains state, Joint commission and other regulatory 3 rd party requirements.

· Performs coaching and counseling, assisting team members in the maintenance of staff credentials and competency as required, utilizing clinical leadership as appropriate.

· Facilitates team participation in performance development, process and assures timely completion.

· Assists with new programs to continue growth and development of CV services.

· Communicates time sensitive messages and issues to staff.

· Maintains close communications with Heart and Vascular Executive Director regarding operational, quality of care, patient experience, budgetary, or staff/physician concerns.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Required –

The level legally required by the applicable state law to meet the minimum qualifications of the position. If an ACLS and/or BCLS are required, certification must be received from the American Heart Association. ACLS must be met within first 6 months of employment.

Preferred - The ideal level one would seek in recruiting candidates for this position.

Position-related experience includes:

· Microsoft Word and Excel, Windows, typing/word processing, Cardiovascular nursing or echosonography experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

· BCLS

· ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

· Master’s preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· RN BSN OR

· Echosonographer

· Minimum 2-5 years of experience in leadership position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Master’s degree

· 2-5 years leadership experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· If RN, Kansas RN license

· If Echosonographer, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Certification
