Leidos, a Fortune 500 science and technology leader , was awarded a new contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to design and implement a regional consolidated mail outpatient pharmacy system. Work will be performed in Shawnee, Kansas, where Leidos will establish a new, state-of-the-art facility for the VA. Using highly-automated processes with robotic devices, conveyor systems, and an integrated control system, this facility will be capable of accurately filling and shipping more than 100,000 prescriptions every day for U.S. military veterans and other eligible patients. The Leidos team will build and maintain this automated prescription fulfillment system using reliable production processes, increased efficiencies of scale, and robust platforms for future use.

We are expanding our team in Shawnee, Kansas. We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Team Lead. Utilizing a combination of automated and manual procedures to prepare and dispense Over the Counter and legend drug prescriptions, bulk type prescriptions, unit-of-use, and medical/surgical products directly by mail to patients. The nature of services includes the operation and s upport of automated and manual filling equipment, and the preparation of prescription orders for mail-out dispensing.


  • Report to the Program Director on performance of Core Operations Team in

  • support

  • of commissioning this Automated Prescription Fulfillment System online

  • Gain proficiency in all facets of the customer's system and be able to operate as needed

  • Prepares/complete prescription orders utilizing either automated dispensing system or manual fill processes

  • Performs tasks for automated replenishment and restocks products and supplies in assigned area

  • Uses Automated Warehouse Management System & Order Management System and Pharmacy control system

  • Assists with the evaluation of workflow and coordination of automation-related work activities to accomplish daily production goals.

  • Provides routine technical training and support to basic users regarding the use of pharmacy systems


  • BA/BS and a minimum of 5+ year of prior relevant experience

  • 2+ years of experience supervising or managing teams or projects with at least 10+ direct reports

  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust level security clearance


  • Military Background preferred

  • College degree preferred

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician in any US state (PTCB)

Pay Range:Pay Range $75,400.00 - $116,000.00 - $156,600.00
