The University of Kansas Health System Data Analytics Liaison in SHAWNEE MISSION, Kansas
The Data Analytics Liaison is responsible for developing a thorough understanding of key stakeholder business questions and requirements. This position will facilitate the understanding of more complex technical problems and translate these requirements into charters and project plans. The Data Analytics Liaison works with Applied Analytics, Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management teams to identify requirements, definitions and sources available to solve prioritized used cases.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Act as the interface, bridging the gap between the analytic and business intelligence teams and business leaders across the enterprise.
Develop a deep and thorough understanding of key stakeholder business questions and requirements, facilitating the understanding of more complex technical problems, and translating such requirements into charters and project plans to define potential use cases.
Work with business stakeholders and relevant engagement partners or steering teams to prioritizes use cases within their domain.
Work with Applied Analytics, Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management teams to identify requirements, definitions and sources available to solve prioritized used cases.
Develop and ensure alignment on short-term delivery goals and long-term data and analytic roadmaps with clear articulation of expected value and why the work is prioritized.
Partner on solution ideation and selection with Applied Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Management, Knowledge Management, and functional areas and drive adoption of delivered solutions within the business.
Assist Budget and Cost Accounting team development and maintenance of drivers and associated definitions for CORUS (activity-based costing system).
Lead development of communication plans with consideration of key business stakeholders and communicate/present findings in a storytelling manner.
Translate analysis and conclusions into actionable recommendations.
Drive projects to success, equip and enable others to own the impact.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the analytics and business intelligence, making recommendations based on the business needs and data/analytic capabilities.
Maintain top-level knowledge of healthcare data and organizational analytic capabilities, identifying opportunities or gaps.
Act as a meeting facilitator in brainstorm/ideation activities, synthesizing feedback from colleagues and leaders.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or Master’s in Business/Communications with analytics experience
5 years of relevant experience in data and analytics, healthcare, and/or aligned field
Working knowledge of statistical types of models (e.g., deep learning vs. logistic regression) and to what business problems they can be applied to
Advanced skill in interpreting and understanding data and statistics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc.)
Master's degree in a quantitative field or Master’s in Business/Communications with analytics experience
Knowledgeable in several of the following tools/languages R, Python, SQL, SAS
Familiarity with the latest technologies, trends, standards, products, and applicability
Excellent interpersonal relations skills
