The University of Kansas Health System Manager - Enterprise Cybersecurity Identity Management in SHAWNEE MISSION, Kansas

The Manager of Enterprise Cybersecurity Identity Management is responsible for leading and ensuring the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the Identity Management systems and related security infrastructure services. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that identity systems, operating systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and security standards, enabling the University of Kansas Health System and related entities to provide the most secure patient care and financial management services. This position leads and mentors’ employees in and out of the department, while building relationships with cross-functional teams and other management resources. The Manager will build on existing vendor relations as well as developing new relations within the industry.

  • Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, with technical skills focused in the area of domain infrastructure, user provisioning and information security. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and understanding of team technical skillsets and processes.

  • Manage the Identity Access Management team and overall process responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of user accounts that support business processes through IT services (including but not limited to access control, Directory Services, Identity Management, network, endpoint, mobile security, firewalls, and remote access VPN).

  • Provides effective leadership to the IAM team, the HITS department; partners and consults with other Hospital departments, management and/or third parties to assure validation of effectiveness of security measures. Creates and communicates the "big picture" understanding of the hospital and works to ensure the department supports the organization's desired competitive position.

  • Maintain, monitor and assure compliance of Hospital Identity policies and practices with legal, regulatory laws (i.e. HIPAA).

  • Manages his/her organizational responsibilities in a way that supports the achievement of team/department goals. Works effectively with others in the management team to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems. Skillfully administers, directs and allocates all organizational resources.

  • Stays focused on all key stakeholders and supports the team/department ability to deliver on all valid stakeholder expectations.

  • Manage the design, development, monitoring and support of IT security/identity management systems, and associated hardware.

  • Manage project development staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, design, evaluation, and disciplinary actions; develop project schedules for infrastructure security and impacted systems equipment.

  • Analyze existing infrastructure security standards, policies, processes, and procedures in place, and develop and maintain a cost-effective infrastructure security roadmap and make recommendations for the improvement to ensure security of information resource assets.

  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the Information Technology senior management, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT security/identity management activities.

Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Five years Microsoft IAM experience required

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in IT or related field or 2:1 equivalent experience

  • CISSP, CISM or GIAC certification preferred

  • Knowledge or experience implementing compliance standards/frameworks such as HITRUST CSF, COSO, ISO/IEC 27002:2005, NIST 800-30, COBIT, PCI etc.
