PDS Tech Inc Sr. Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician in Shawnee Mission, Kansas

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician in Lenexa, KS.

Position Summary:

  • Sr Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician for weekend night shift will report directly to the Maintenance Equipment Supervisor along with daily directive from the shift Maintenance Lead and assist in the oversight of maintenance activities on weekend night shift

  • This position will be responsible for addressing emergency maintenance issues throughout all work streams of operations with the goal of achieving scheduled daily production levels

  • This position will also be responsible for maintaining on time completion of assigned PMs along with general WO requests including repairs, modifications and fabrication projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily manufacturing, filling and packaging operations thru online troubleshooting and repair to maximize operations OEE

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems as required

  • Execute preventative maintenance and general repair work orders as scheduled

  • Fabricate minor replacement/repair parts as needed within maintenance machining/welding shop

  • Assists in analyzing and correcting problems encountered during Maintenance work to ensure work is performed according to SOPs

  • Have daily touch base communications with Maintenance Lead regarding shift-to-shift transfer information

  • Provide feedback to supervisor/engineering regarding equipment condition and provide recommendations for improved reliability plan

  • Work with engineering department to develop capital equipment needs and support new equipment installations

  • Overtime as required to support extended production schedules

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment subject to dust, heat and noise conditions

  • Standing for extended periods of time, including bending and twisting

  • Walk or standing up to 6 hours at a time

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to maneuver up and down ladders

  • Clean room gowning will often be required

  • Ensure safety of employees and comply with all health and safety policies/guidelines

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skill to work with minimal supervision within established procedures

  • Knowledge of industrial control wiring systems

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to use input from equipment operators to develop a strategy for repairs

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Vocational technical certification or minimum five years related job experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Process automation control experience

  • Powered industrial equipment operation training

  • Welding/machining aptitude

  • Training and experience with safety programs such as lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, elevated work, etc

  • Strong computer skills to utilize Microsoft Office, corporate applications and maintenance work order software system
