JOB TITLE: Supv Maintenance - Mechanical

DEPARTMENT: Generation - Jeffrey Energy Center

LOCATION: St. Marys, KS

PAY RANGE: $88,500 - $118,000 (Min-Mid)

Scheduled Work Hours: Day shift M-F, 7-3:30 evening, weekend and other coverage as required

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading the maintenance crew in the maintenance of power plant equipment by effectively utilizing personnel, equipment and other resources in a safe, reliable, efficient, environmentally sound and cost-effective manner in support of the business unit’s performance measures. The goal of the Maintenance Supervisor is to achieve equipment reliability and improve maintenance effectiveness. Specific duties Include:

⦁ Provide direction, coaching and continued training for Journeyman and Apprentices in new technology, standards, and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work force.

⦁ Set the standard for safety, quality and productivity through clear and frequent communications with the maintenance staff.

⦁ Actively lead and fully support efforts to improve equipment reliability and productivity through RCM studies, predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis, procedure development, and the workflow process of maintenance work.

⦁ Develop and manage with the planning/scheduling team members, a weekly schedule that supports the operational needs of the plant and daily work assignments.

⦁ Ensure work documentation is accurate, complete, and entered into the CMMS in a timely fashion by yourself and your crew.

⦁ Set expectations and hold assigned crew accountable for productivity, work documentation, safety and reliability; develop and execute strategies for improvements as needs are identified.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate for this role will have mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, including a basic understanding of reliability-based maintenance. Have a people first mentality with excellent leadership skills, with focus on coaching, mentoring and performance management.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

⦁ Demonstrates values of honesty, integrity, respect for others, teamwork and collaboration, accountability and performance.

⦁ Knowledgeable in the maintenance of all types of power plant equipment and able to research resources for information to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions.

⦁ Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong computer skills.

⦁ Knowledge of OSHA standards and company policies and safety standards preferred.

⦁ Ability to coach, counsel, and handle conflict, and to remain calm and collected in high stress times. Must be highly organized and be able to create detailed reports.

⦁ Ability to perform the physical activities of the job (includes but is not limited to climbing, color vision, depth perception, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, walking, outside work, etc.).

⦁ Ability to easily handle multiple priorities; visualize, analyze and make decisions with limited data; process information in an orderly, accurate and timely manner; and operate within short time frames.

⦁ Ability to handle multiple priorities in a highly demanding team atmosphere. Ability to simultaneously keep multiple tasks in controlled motion.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required:

Applicant must possess a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions will require indoor and outdoor work at a moment’s notice in all types of weather. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
