The position is the leader of the finance team responsible for all plant financial activities, including adherence to Colgate Financial Policies, internal controls, asset protection and plant performance analysis. The position is a reliable consultant to business partners providing business insights, direction on governance, cost management, opportunities to improve efficiencies through automation, standardization and use of technologies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination, analysis and communication of the Tonganoxie Plant’s annual consolidated budget process, calendar of deliverables and guidelines, as well as periodic budget revisions, LEs (the latest estimates) and monthly analysis of actual results compared to budget/estimate (VOH, FOH, Manufacturing Variances, OPC)

  • Develop and communicate Budget/LE targets, assumptions and reporting dates to all operational areas

  • Review, understand and communicate all significant variances to Plant Leadership and Global Supply Chain Finance during both month end and budget/LE time periods

  • Provide strategic financial direction and advice to manufacturing business partners

  • Collaborate with manufacturing business partners to develop business plans that consider risk and cost/benefit relationships

  • Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by the Plant Manager/Plant Leadership Team or other GSC groups

  • Act as liaison with other internal functions (e.g. GSC, Procurement, CS&L, S&T, CBS, GD&P,Division / General Accounting, Tax, etc.) and external partners

  • Providing mentorship to the Technical/Engineering team related to accurate classification of spending, verification of savings calculations and accurate fixed asset ledger values

  • Evaluate investment decisions using an ROI mentality and the analysis principles of BASICS and C-P’s Capital Management system

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study

  • 7+ years of experience in the Finance / Accounting environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent designation preferred

  • Prior experience in Supply Chain, CS&L, Procurement and/or Manufacturing environments preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in leading people

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
