Facebook is seeking a Civil, Structural, Landscape, Architect Design (CSLA) professional to support Global Standards within the Data Center Design team. In this role, you will support CSLA standardization from ideation through change management processes, ultimately influencing and implementing decisions within the standards library for implementation globally. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates enabling innovation for the company. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The data center design team approaches facility design from the chips on the server boards to the facility mechanical and electrical distribution systems which ensure and maximize efficiency of our compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in team management and a strong background in all aspects of Civil, Structural, Landscape design & Architecture. A thorough understanding of site planning and interdependent disciplines, such as mechanical and electrical systems and project delivery processes needed to support our growing fleet of Data Centers, is strongly desired. This person shall be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and be a self-starter that can excel with little direction. This position is full-time.

Required Skills:

  1. Manages change management and standardization of Civil, Structural, Landscape & Architect related activities globally

  2. Manages Global Standards documentation supporting the CSLA discipline globally

  3. Collaborate with cross-functional internal partners and external consultants to evaluate, coordinate & lead implementation of changes to the Facebook Data Center Global Standards

  4. Technical leader managing consultants to implement global programmatic design and/or initiatives, ensuring business goals, technical needs, and contract terms are met

  5. Review CSLA change management and provide feedback

  6. Collaborate with multiple teams across different disciplines

  7. Drive project schedules while working closely with design and construction to ensure milestones and completion dates are on track

  8. Lead CSLA change initiatives with project teams in schematic design, design development, and construction administration to support the project manager during construction

  9. Travel to datacenter sites when needed

  10. Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Civil, Structural, Landscape and Architectural

  2. Experience with industry standards, building codes and safety standards

  3. Experience with Office, Revit/BIM and Bluebeam

  4. Experience improving cost assessment and design through different applications

  5. Experience with cross-discipline teams to design critical facility systems

  6. Experience with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

  7. Experience with planning strategy and tactics

  8. Experience troubleshooting and using analytical skills to make decisions supported by data

  9. Experience with formal change management processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Licensed Architect (RA) or Structural PE or Civil Engineer PE

  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mission critical facility, healthcare, laboratories, industrial or aerospace industry, design, construction, operations, and/or maintenance

  3. Owner’s representative experience

  4. PMP certification

  5. LEED accreditation
