GCG Associate Design Engineer - Paige Renewables in Topeka, Kansas

Thanks to exponential year-over-year growth, Paige, a GCG Company , is currently seeking a dedicated, career-oriented Associate Design Engineer to join and grow with our Renewables team.

As an Associate Design Engineer, you will apply your electrical engineering knowledge and computer aided design (CAD) software familiarity to support the quoting process for current and future commercial solar panel installation projects. You’ll work closely with our electrical design team to develop accurate bills of materials and subsequent quotes , ensuring swift pre / post sales processes and compliance with safety standards and manufacturability.

This is an exciting opportunity that offers a flexible, remote work arrangement and the chance to join a team committed to innovation and top-tier customer service in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry.

This position is fully remote with the exception of very occasional travel to a Paige facility or customer install site. To align with working schedules of the other members of the team, location in the eastern or central time zone is strongly preferred.

What You’ll do

  • Support sourcing efforts through the development of purchase specifications

  • Use Paige's design tools, CAD programs, Zukin E3 Harness Building, ERP, and other software to create specifications, drawings, bills of materials and purchase specifications

  • Interface with various safety listing agencies (UL, CSA, ETL, NSF) to ensure products conform to industry standards and meet the customer’s needs

  • Communicate with vendors to meet customer needs and achieve optimum costs

  • Perform other duties as needed to support the products and processes needed to design, source, manufacture, and testing products

  • Travel to industry shows, events, customer install sites, and manufacturing locations as needed

What You’ll bring

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering desired

  • 1-2 years of experience in Engineering or Technical Discipline is desired

  • Entry level knowledge of wire and cable products, harness assemblies, connectors, and industry standards required

  • Engineering, design, analytical and computer utilization experience with AutoCAD or other CAD programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software currently used by Paige

  • Working familiarity with Monday.com or comparable project management system preferred but not considered a requirement

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and work closely with individuals from the field, manufacturing, quality, and management

  • Up to 10% travel is required to visit suppliers, customers sites, manufacturing facilities and other locations as needed

  • Annual salary ranging from $60,000-$70,000 based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, and other factors relevant to the job
