The Business Operations team enables the organization to optimize value delivery by executing faster from ideation to launch through adoption of the agile operating model, intentional continuous improvement, adaptive governance processes, and measuring what matters. We facilitate the intake, prioritization, and flow of work through the system, providing transparency to stakeholders.

About the Job

The Associate Director position is responsible for leading a team of 10 - 12 Solution Train Engineers ensuring their domain(s) are executing and delivering against their committed program increment plan. The role is also responsible for communicating with stakeholders, escalating, and removing impediments, managing risk, and driving relentless improvement. They will act as the Servant Leader of the Epic Team and foster continuous improvements via Inspect and Adapt workshops and regularly review program boards, feature/story burndowns and burn ups to understand PI Progress. The resource is expected to have effective communication – both written and verbal along with attention to detail and organizational skills to work across the various stakeholders. This includes the ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders. Responsible for developing creative options and alternate strategies for meeting aggressive goals in terms of time to market in a very fast paced and dynamic environment. The position also interviews and selects employees, maintains proper staffing levels, allocates resources, supervises teams daily operations, productivity, identifies areas for improvement, develops action plans to improve performance, develops teams technical and managerial expertise through on-the-job and formal training opportunities, enforces Company policies, takes necessary disciplinary action, evaluates individual performance for annual performance review, merit increases, promotions and other employment status changes, and conducts long-range planning for the team.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

  • Supervises a team of 10 - 12 Solution Train Engineers that are responsible for facilitating the end-to-end delivery of value within the CTX Organization. For their domain they are accountable to ensure their area is executing and delivering as it should. Providing day to day support for their direct reports and expected to be familiar with the scope and objective of the work being delivered. Ensure their domains are delivering against the plan. Makes suggestions and recommendations to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, and other status changes for employees under their supervision.

  • Manage a team of Solution Train Engineers in the Epic Life Cycle through Pre-PI Planning, PI Planning, and PI execution.

  • Supports the team through issue mitigation and resolution.

  • Supports the team through feature definition of ready, feature development, testing and deployment.

  • Supports the Technical Enabler, Experience Enabler, and Google CCAI, domains of Epics which can consist of 150 Plus Epics and 800 Plus features in a single PI.

  • Responsible for facilitating and supporting the Product development teams and business in the Epic, feature and user story definition, and commitment delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar disciplines

  • 6+ years in leadership roles within the telecommunications/mobility industry.

  • 8+ years of experience in Technology Delivery and Project/Program Management.

  • 5+ years of experience with Agile Development, Agile Delivery and Agile Metrics, Agile Methodology.

  • Technical Aptitude related to Agile Development, Dev Ops and Architecture.

  • Skilled at juggling multiple demands.

  • Ability to function well in uncertain situations.

  • Experience with negotiation and critical thinking.

  • Demonstrates strong sense of urgency, ownership and operates in a collaborative manner.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders.

  • Can identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with product and capability definition as laid out by product managers.

  • Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment.

  • Excellent collaboration skills and can effectively work in a team environment.

  • Experience managing large geographically diverse teams comprising of employees, vendor partners, and contractors.

Our Associate Director Technology earn between $155,400 - $233,200 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
