What You’ll Be Doing:

The Client Services department develops relationships with our Vital Decisions existing health plan customer base and supports new customers partnering to offer our services to their member clients. The Client Services team is responsible for customer retention and expansion efforts and are skilled at supporting the clients’ needs, communicating our value and representing Vital Decisions’ organizational goals.

The Clinical Account Executive establishes, builds and maintains positive, professional relationships at various levels within their assigned accounts and develops a positive consensus regarding the Vital Decisions’ value proposition across the organization. Overall responsibility for renewing and exploration of expanding business relationships with existing clients will reside with this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Role Requirements:

  • Proactively supports and strategically manages an assigned book of business

  • Establishes deep relationships with Vital Decisions’ health plan clients

  • Responsible for client retention and satisfaction of assigned accounts.

  • Develops and implements strategic client services strategies and business plans for each account

  • Collaborates with Implementation at point of transition from Sales to Client Services

  • Supports operations with client implementations on any clinical needs

  • Effectively and consistently communicates the value of Vital Decisions’ services across the relevant audiences of the health care plan client organization

  • Communicates issues, concerns and problems in a solution-oriented manner and resolves them

  • Deploys consultative client management skills and capabilities within a health care plan client environment

  • Leverages the capabilities of Vital Decisions in a highly efficient manner to achieve business objectives with existing clients

  • Manages JOC’s (Joint Operating Committee Meetings) for assigned book of business including scheduling, developing agenda, building slides and presenting material to clients

  • Reviews clinical case studies with customers/health plans to show the value of the program to the plan members.

  • Supports in upsell and expansion activities and meetings

  • Works collaboratively with Director, Client Services to support departmental and organization goals

  • Responsible for fielding any Portal and/or Docvault issues from clients, providing/facilitating training to users, responsible for communication with clients relative to Portal/DocVault activity, as well as ensuring activations and deactivations of users; audits users annually

  • Leads initiatives related to training of health plan, including client’s Case Managers, on the Vital Decisions products and the referral process, both during the Implementation phase as well as post-Implementation refresher trainings and trainings for new Case Managers.

  • Represents Vital Decisions in interdisciplinary team rounds for health plan clients.This includes reviewing member’s involvement in Vital Decisions programs, actively engaging in the meeting discussions, providing updates and identifying members appropriate for referral.

  • Maintains relationships with third party vendors involved in the referral process of health plan client members

  • Takes proactive steps to ensure confidentiality and security of client data and reporting, including password protection activity of folders and reports

  • Leverages internal organizational relationships to support customer needs

  • Participates in industry related trade shows upon request

  • Additional special projects and duties as assigned by Vital Decisions leadership

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 4 year degree required; Advanced degree preferred in a clinical field (Counseling or Social Work)

  • 5+ years’ experience in health services account management to healthcare payers and/or related healthcare markets strongly preferred

  • Experience working in the counseling or social work fields preferred

  • Experience in hospice/palliative care strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • The ability to leverage relationships and contacts within a client account to create business results and retain clients

  • Ability to support the Director and Client Services team to achieve departmental goals

  • Understanding of Managed Care Organizations, National Health Plans , and Third Party Administrators

  • History of building strong relationships and network contacts in the healthcare industry

  • Must understand key market trends in these industries, to link them to business needs, and have strong conceptual understanding of key customer needs

  • Experience with the medical management organization of Medicare Advantage plans highly preferred

  • Ability to work effectively with departmental colleagues in a team setting

  • Effective presentation and platform skills to deliver trainings to external customers

  • Clearly demonstrated strengths in oral and written communication and analytical abilities

  • High degree of computer literacy using Windows, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook

Travel Required

This is a remote role, working from your home office. Domestic travel required as needed to attend client meetings, conferences, trade shows, etc. Responsible for coordinating client visits quarterly with each account, or 2x / year, if preferred by client.

Technical Requirements:

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

Compensation Range: The typical range of employees within the compensation grade of this position is $72,000. Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
