Position Title and Salary :      Court Education Conference and Event Coordinator, grade 40, $30.99                                                        hourly

Job Duties: Assists the director of education with programs for state and municipal judges, court employees, and other stakeholders by planning and coordinating all aspects of training, conferences, and special events, staffing education committees, troubleshooting at conferences, monitoring continuing education compliance, tracking educational offerings, and performing assignments contributing to the mission of OJA.

Required Experience, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Proven success in event planning or coordination.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and time management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships.

  • Experience with financial management and budgeting.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

  • Ability to make work decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, and court policies and procedures.

  • Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly and in writing.

  • Flexibility for travel throughout Kansas as needed.  Some overnights required.

    Preferred Education:

    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration, Administration of Justice, or a related field of study.

    Preferred Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of court procedures and policies pertaining to the various departments of the district court, and various offices under the Kansas Supreme Court.

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of public administration including employment and personnel management.
